Le Ferrailleur "espanté", estampé!!! Pfff, ça fait 12 ans que je stock de la doc sur le Old West, Railroad US, Steamboat, Carriages / Coach, Logging,etc... (env 30 giga).... J'ai encore quelques trucs sympa sur Remington, to be continued!!! | |

| Tintype of An Indian War Principal Musician Cabinet Card of a Trio of Indian War Major Generals,an autographed cabinet card by Currier, Omaha featuring in the foreground Brevet Major General Christopher C. Auger (1821-1898), flanked by General Crook (1828-1890) and signed by General John C. Smith (1816-1897) with a bevy of unidentified staff officers. A lengthy ink salutation in Smith’s hand reads, To Mrs. Col. M. I. Ludington with compliments of Jno. E. Smith, Col 14th Infy, Bvt Majr Genl USA, May 10th, 1878. Crook was then in command of the Department of the Platte with Auger commanding the Department of the Gulf. Smith and Crook had recently returned from the simmering Fort Hall Agency in Idaho where a Bannock-Paiute uprising would explode on May 30, 1878, exacerbated by insufficient rations provided to the Indians. Standing second from right is Major Marshall I. Ludington (Colonel was his Civil War rank), Crook’s Quartermaster. | |

| Similar in design to the original Andrews Hat used by the Second Dragoons in Texas in 1851, this new folding campaign hat was issued to both officers and enlisted men beginning in 1872. This hat did not hold up well in the field and was replaced in 1876 by a smaller and more durable pattern. | |
