This scene is typical in all respects. Here is the perfect grass country, where in the years just prior to this scene, the slaughtered cousins of the grass eaters in this picture grazed only to be annihilated by the buffalo hunters. Here is the typical roping pony and roper. A ranahan straight, pigean-breasted, long-backed cow puncher, always riding the horse between his legs from the bottom of his sturrups to the top of his hat. He is tied hard and fast with a bellowing calf on the end of his minilla, relectantly being dragged to his baptism of fire, with the proverbial 'anxious mother' always following." L.A.H.

Some hint of the location of this line camp is contained in the words "Crow A[gency?]" stenciled on one of the boxes in the background. It may belong to some outfit witha lease to run cattle on the Crow Reservation.
